1918 Chevrolet 490 Open Touring Model with Electric start. It is currently titled as the 1918 but we're thinking it might also be a 1921 model. Maybe someone out there who is more familiar might be able to advise us. The current owner purchased this car from the Country Museum in Minto, North Dakota in 2002 when they were selling some of their unrestored inventory to make room for restored items. In 2004 he took the body off the frame and rebuilt it. All of the wood is original except for a few of the floorboards. She is painted a nice charcoal color with black fenders and the finish is still very nice as the pictures show. He was told that the museum had rebuilt the engine, he replained the head and installed a new gasket. The seats were recovered and a new top was installed. The wheels and steering wheel are in excellent condition with no rot. The radiator was replaced at the same time. There are 2 extra rims that will go with the car as well as the tools you see in the picture and some misc parts. The amp and oil gauge work, the speedometer does not. One Sunday while going to church the drivers side headlight and retainer ring fell out and were never found. Passenger side headlight works fine. At the moment the drivers side tire is flat and needs to be replaced.
The owner is downsizing his farm so this is an opportunity to own a real piece of history that you will be able to enjoy for many many years to come.
The owner also has a beautifully restored 1955 Thunderbird for sale as well. For pictures and information please contact me.
